NYPD Seeks Suspects In String Of Bronx Bodega Robberies

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are seeking suspects in a series of bodega robberies in the Highbridge and East Concourse sections of the Bronx.

The two suspects, one of whom was always armed with a handgun, struck at three stores in the Bronx in less than a week.

The first robbery happened at approximately 10 p.m. on March 17 at the Ogden Deli Grocery on Ogden Avenue in Highbridge. Police said the suspects entered the bodega and removed an undetermined amount of money from the cash register.

On March 18, the suspects took an unknown amount of money from the Two Stars Express Grocery on East 167th Street in East Concourse at about 9:30 p.m.

Police said the suspects also struck at the Pit Stop Deli on Teller Avenue in East Concourse at approximately 10:45 p.m., taking an undetermined amount of money from the cash register.

There were no reported injuries during any of the robberies.

Police described both suspects as Hispanic males in their twenties with light skin. One suspect was described as being approximately 5'10" tall, while the other was described as being between 5'10" and 6' tall.

Police said they believe this robbery spree is unrelated to another string of bodega robberies that has shaken residents in the borough.
