New Castle will soon start seeing murals and other original outdoor paintings around several sites near the industrial areas as part of a public arts project.

Resident Laura Baker said she is thrilled.
“I think it will make the neighborhood look better,” Baker said. “Pretty it up very much so.”
The artistic teams will soon converge on the mixed working-class community and decorate several locations.
You can never have enough beauty, Baker said.
With such a diverse area, Baker said the art will help bring community members even closer.
“We’re international. We have el Salvadorans here. We have African Americans. We have Italians across the street. Ecuardorians. Everybody looks out for each other,” Baker said.
