B&C Morning Show Blog & Audio: Opening Day, Final Four, What A Week Ahead

Bobby Dwyer

Where shall we begin?  Baseball is just days away as the Yanks will open things up at the Stadium against the Tigers on Thursday afternoon, while the Mets' season will begin Friday against the Marlins.  The Final Four is set and Butler, UCONN, VCU & Kentucky will be battling it out in Houston on Saturday (4/2) to play for the Championship next Monday night (4/4) and although nothing is certain, Craig is sure that of the four teams, VCU is certainly not going to win it all and you can "Lock That Up."  He gives the Rams a shot to beat Butler, but as far as being crowned as champions, Craig says they have no shot.  Speaking of losing, the Knicks just keep finding ways to do just that.  The new-look Knicks have lost six in a row, nine of their last 10 and could be on the verge of the unthinkable, missing out on the postseason, despite the addition of Carmelo.  Since the trade the Knickerbockers are just 7-12 and are now three games under .500, at 35-38 on the year.  Boomer has just about discarded the Knickerbockers all together, he is just happy the Rangers are playing so well.  Craigie on the other hand isn't ready to give-up on his beloved 'Orange & Blue' (yet)…

Plus – Ticket hikes have had varying results in the 'Big Apple' and Jerry's first update – R.A. Dickey decides on a name for his offspring – Carlos Beltran is lookin' to turn that frown upside down, Yankees play a little paintball and colonoscopies for everyone – NFL Top 10 lists (and should Craigie be a part of them) – a moment spotlighting some alternative medicine - Round 4 of the 'B&C Tourney of Babes' is underway and we offer a little taste of the goods…

A few weeks back, both the Knicks and the Rangers announced that they would be raising ticket prices (Knicks - an average of 49% & Rangers an average of 23%).  Now with an increase like that, fans might expect to get a little something in return for their investment.  Thus far the Rangers have played extremely well since the hike, posting a record of 8-1-1, which brings a smile to Boomer's face.  The Knicks on the other hand have been dreadful, posting just one win to go along with eight losses since the drastic increase, which is an absolute joke.  Jerry followed that up with his first update of the week, which he got started by recapping a wild weekend of college basketball that saw VCU punch its ticket for the Final Four in Houston.  We heard from Carlos Beltran who is pining for the days he can sleep until noon, Craig calls for Mike D'Antoni's resignation and then predicts a big April from the Yankees.  The update concluded after the guys discussed testicles in regards to the Barry Bonds perjury case…

R.A. Dickey welcomed his fourth child into the world on Thursday and until this morning we didn't know for sure what name he and his wife decided on for the new Dickey offspring.  Despite numerous suggestions on this very show, the Dickeys decided to go in a different direction, choosing the name Van.  Al 'Hughes' Dukes chimed in, pointing out a potential problem with the new child's initials…

Carlos Beltran will be looking to have a bounce back year and he is determined not to let all of the negative energy bring him down.  Craig reminds the Mets new right fielder that he has no knees left.  Then we hear about a day off for the Yankees which was spent shooting paintballs at the media.  To wrap the segment up, the guys talked about colonoscopies and when Craig admitted to never having one, Boomer offers to go along with him to the doctor's office to offer support…
