Opening Day at Yankee Stadium went as planned with a win over the Tigers.
Curtis Granderson came up with two big catches and a go-ahead home run and Mark Teixeira provided a three-run home run of his own off Justin Verlander. The Yankees closed out the game by showing off their stacked bullpen with a combined three perfect innings from Joba Chamberlain, Rafael Soriano and Mariano Rivera.
