Police Make Arrest In NYC Bus Slashing

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The NYPD said one of seven teens accused of beating and slashing two men aboard a city bus packed with riders has been arrested.

Police said the teens ganged up on the men aboard a S74 bus on Staten Island Wednesday night, and that 17-year-old Jacquille Pender of Staten Island was arrested a short time later.

The district attorney's office said Pender was expected to be arraigned Friday on two counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.

A witness told the Staten Island Advance that the assailants left their box cutters behind after fleeing.

Both victims were treated for cuts on their backs, arms and faces.
