Huge Marijuana Grow Operation Busted On Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Federal authorities say they’ve uncovered a $10-million-a-year marijuana farm hidden inside a garage, according to a report.

The Staten Island Advance reported Drug Enforcement Agents raided the garage at 3075 Veterans Road West.

The garage reportedly contained a massive hydroponic pot farm.

Two men were arrested. The Advance reports they are Keith Levine, 33, of Bayard Street in Brooklyn and Michael Arroyo, 37, of Alpine Avenue in Sunnyside.

Some 450 plants were recovered.

The drug growers should’ve moved to a state like CA or VT where they have marijuana selling franchises. They’d be able to make $$ and stya in business.

i think they have no other choice but to legalize it but, they cant…..there is too much money involved in it for these politicians to legalize it….think about it. you know how much tax free money they are going to be loosing……the goverment is not stupid we are lol. for electing them.

I love how cops exagerate their pathetic accomplishments.

10 MILLION A YEAR FARM! WOW!

In a f*in garage?! No way. Guys were probably pulling in a little over 100k a year, if that…

and the ‘450 plants they recovered’?
They didn’t say 450 mature plants.
Every little twig the cops find they label a ‘plant’ to make it seem more serious.

The reality of course is that they are throwing away TAXPAYER money on catching and throwing some suburbia kids into jail.
(yes I know they were in their 30’s, but i lived in SI, I know most people there are kids mentally speaking)

It’s more that feasible that they seized $10 million dollars worth.
However, you have to watch the videos on these things when they’re weighing the “plant matter” that they seize.
If it’s plants, that means that they’re weighing the WHOLE ENTIRE plant, not the buds themselves after they’ve been cured, otherwise known as “dry plant matter” or “dry plant material” or just plain nugs lol.
Also, there are grow tents that you can purchase that house 35 plants at a time that you grow hydroponically, and if there’s a garage that means that there’s room for definitely at least 2 of those, which would be enough to net them $10 million dollars in a 1-year span, if they at least grow as these tents advertise (which can yield 120 pounds of dry plant matter for just 1 of them, so 2 makes 240 pounds totally 3 million in the state of new york.) So let’s just say they had 6 of these grow tents in a garage and about the same amount of clones.
Now, assuming these were the conditions, which of course this is just assuming, would this not be a feasible explanation as to how they would actually be producing $10 million dollars, even though we can all agree that the number was grossly exaggerated?

Jesus said to do unto others as we would have them to do unto us. None of us would want our child thrown in jail with the sexual predators for using a little marijuana. None of us would want to see our parent’s home confiscated and sold by the police for growing a couple of marijuana plants to ease the aches and pains of growing older. It’s time to stop putting our own families in jail. It’s time to let ordinary Americans grow a little marijuana in their own back yards, and it’s nice to see our culture coming to terms with this in a more wholesome fashion. This will go a long way toward putting the criminal drug gangs out of business for good! 7. DaTruth says:

why is alcahol legal if it kills so many people a year….

shoot…i think alcohol kills more brains cells than marijuana…

i think nyc cops kill more people in 1 year than marijuana kills in a lifetime…

  8. fred says:

I DONT DRINK OR SMOKE ,BUT I AGREE TO LEGALIZE THE STUFF THERE FAR MUCH WORSE STUFF OUT THERE AND ALSO IT HAS MEDICINAL PURPOSES.

  9. Hempstead Homestead says:

Alcohol ruins your body and makes revenue for the medical community.
Pot has no worth to the community because it does not pay for the Doctor’s yacht or private school for the darling children.

  10. Reuben says:

Marijuana should be legal like any other “over 18” item.

    1. cecil caretr says:

      Legalize it
