'Boardwalk Empire' Actress Paz De La Huerta In Court On NYC Assault Charge

NEW YORK (AP) - Prosecutors say TV actress Paz de la Huerta derided a former reality TV figure as a "fake actress'' after attacking her in a posh New York City hotel bar.

The "Boardwalk Empire'' actress was arraigned Tuesday on assault and other charges in her March 20 encounter with Samantha Swetra.

De la Huerta's lawyer says she's "asking people not to rush to judgment.''

A court complaint says de la Huerta punched Swetra in the face and threw a glass that cut Swetra's leg.

Manhattan prosecutors say de la Huerta then told police she herself was "a real actress,'' but Swetra was a fake and "a publicity seeker.''

De la Huerta plays main character Nucky Thompson's girlfriend, Lucy Danziger, on the HBO series.

Swetra appeared on the MTV reality series "The City."
