B&C Morning Show: Amar’e Stoudemire Is Soft

Boomer & Craig were at odds this morning–which isn’t unusual–but Craig’s take on today’s topic is sure to ruffle a few feathers.

Amar’e Stoudemire tweaked his back during warm-ups, causing him to have back spasms and ultimately force him to leave the game.  Craig took this as a sign of weakness, pleading with Stoudemire to “man-up”.

Boomer tried to be the voice of reason, pointing out that Craig has never played professional sports and is in no position to pass judgment.  Craig failed to take his partners cue and continued on, labeling Stoudemire as “soft” while Boomer shook his head in disagreement…

I gave up listening to Boomer and Cartoon a long time ago! Mike and Mike are much better and at least talk sports….what they’re supposed to do! The only other sports talk show on the air now is Joe and Evan on the fan. They are the BEST! The fan should take Boomer, Cartoon and Mike (I am great) and toss them all off the air!

  2. Andy says:

Carton is a classic schoolyard bully. He has no problem taking shots at and calling out players, coaches, writers, broadcasters, etc. But when a caller or writer dares to criticizes HIM, it bothers him to no end. He cowers in the corner and resorts to vulgar name calling. as if he’s perfect. He can dish it, but he can’t take it. What a champ!

  3. Bill H says:

Time for CBS/WFAN to give Craig the boot. Turn on the show and you can listen for 15-20 min without any sports being discussed. He regularly interrupts and talks over the guests … we are not interested in his nonsense, but rather would like to hear what Reggie Jackson, Ed Kranepool or Garry Bettman actually has to say.

  4. Amare Stoudemire says:

Leave Carton Alone. I am a woman. I let my team down. Pau Gasol owns me.

  5. Jebron Lames says:

That was the perfect opportunity for Amare’s Willis Reed moment. He stumbles out to start the fourth…the team gets jacked up like crazy and plays D out the wazzooo for the win. Instead he sits in the locker room like a punk and puts it all on Melo (again).

  6. SRE says:

Carton thinks he’s funny and clever like a Howard Stern wannabee, but he’s not. It’s only a matter of time before he goes over the line on something and really puts his put in his mouth, putting the station/company in hot water and dragging Boomer along with him. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet. It’s an accident waiting to happen. What’s the over-under on how long it will be before he starts with his front-running “Mets Fans for Yankees!” nonsense?

  7. Kevin says:

Carton is completely out of line to call Amar’e “soft” and insiinuate that he should have played in the second half Tuesday through his back pain. You’re not in his body and have no idea how he was feeling. If he played on, it possibly could have done more harm than good for himself and the team, not just in Game 2 but the rest of the series. I think with everything Amar’e has done to help turn around the Knicks, he’s earned that benefit of the doubt. I’d love to see Carton come down with back spasms right now and have him discover how uncomfortable it is to function with that pain.. You have some nerve, Carton!!!

  8. DAF says:

Carton is a Joke!!! He is not funny at all…I hope MSG cancels there show.

  9. Danny says:

The morning show with Carton is unlistenable. It is not funny or informative. Yawn.

  10. Adam says:

Carton is a total jerk who talks first, then thinks later, and needs to shut his big, fat piehole!!! Do you really think that Amar’e, after everything he’s done to help bring the Knicks organization back to relevance, isn’t a gamer and was dogging it, not wanting to be out on the court with his teammates in a playoff game??? If you’ve ever had back spasms or a serious back injury like me, especially if you’re an athlete, you know how painful it can be to move around. Did you really want him to play in the second half, go full speed, potentially pull more muscles his back, and thus hurt the team on the court, possibly resulting in not being able to walk for a month??? How dare you!!! Hopefully, Amar’e will be ok for the rest of this series. But if he’s proven to have a lingering back injury (hope not), I assume Carton will “man up”, eat some crow, and apologize on-air for what he said about Amar’e today. Or was that segment not taped, like how it always is with Fran-say-so in the afternoon? I can’t for the life of me figure out how Boomer puts up with this lowlife creep for 20 hours/week.

  11. BFH says:

I don’t know what I want to see more:

    a) Carton to come down with back spasms to understand the pain involved

    b) his subsequent on-air apology to Amare
