Man Shot, Killed At West Orange Liquor Store

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at a West Orange liquor store.

Officials said an unknown suspect entered Chestnut Wine and Liquors and shot 28-year-old James Wilson on Friday at 9:30 p.m.

Wilson, a resident of Union County, was pronounced dead at the scene.

West Orange Police and members from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office do not have any suspects or arrests. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the West Orange Police or the ECPO tips hotline.

  3. This pains me GREATLY. I was in the store before it happened and got a FEELING. We spoke briefly and there was no one else in the store. I had a FEELING of imminent DANGER the moment I walked out – but, I saw no one on the street or anywhere near the store.

    I had no idea someone would end up dead.

    My heart and prayers go out to his family.
