Newark Liberty Airport Suffers 3 Security Breaches In 5 Days

TSA: None Involved Deliberate Attempts; Travelers Nervous

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — It’s a security nightmare. There have been three security breaches at Newark Liberty Airport in the last five days with the most recent incident occurring Tuesday morning.

Travelers at the airport were surprised to hear about the latest in a string of security breaches in the terminals.

One took place Tuesday morning around 7 a.m. at checkpoint 1 in Terminal B and halted all screening after a passenger slipped through the security lines and unchecked by Transportation Security Administration agents.

“They’re so aggressive when they check you, I’m surprised. They must have been taking a nap,” Maryanne Ciavatta told CBS 2’s Derricke Dennis.

“They could be understaffed. There’s a lot of reasons, or they could not be well-enough trained,” Pedro Yee said.

The TSA confirmed the three mishaps at Newark International over the last five days. They said none of the incidents involved a deliberate attempt by passengers to thwart security. Those passengers were eventually found, screened and allowed to board their flights.

In a statement, the TSA said “with millions of screens done daily there will be security-related incidents, albeit isolated incidents, such as those that recently occurred at Newark Airport.”

The statement went on to say that the breaches were “quickly contained and brought to a satisfactory resolution.”

Still travelers said they were alarmed by the sheer number of incidents in recent days.

“I think that’s a little staggering, but I’m sure we can handle it,” Yee said.

    Newark Airport sucks balls

I just loved TSA’s response to the security lapses. The TSA never ever admits fault or apologizes for anything. The arrogance is staggering, but then the US public allows them to operate with impunity so why shouldn’t they be. And I am sure the TSA still managed to fondle lots of small children that day.

These aren’t real security breaches. Each of these non-incidents is generated by the TSA’s goofy procedures, not any real threat. The TSA goons have thrown three fits in a row because they didn’t get to trample these citizens’ 4th amendment rights thoroughly enough for their personal satisfaction before the citizens proceeded to their flights. So? Who cares? You certainly shouldn’t.

It’s crazy to equate tantrums from a TSA goon with any real security breach. If we start equating the delusions of these power mad thugs with any real safety issues, we’ll become dysfunctional too.

Put it in perspective folks: a hissy-fit from a TSA goon does not a security breach make.

Do not surrender your common sense to the crazed cult the TSA has become under Napolitano and Pistole’s megalomaniacal leadership. If you buy into their fantasy world, you’ll become part of the problem.

If you don’t like it… walk. You have no constitutional right to get on a commercial airliner.

They are losing their mind for the Caucasian rule is coming to an end.
Their leader Lucifer loss his mind Sunday when African Daniel rose instead of the Caucasian Daniel/Horus/Osiris/Belshazzar/Jesus character.
That dead energy is being wiped out. More of this is coming.

..please, please nat m, just drink the koolaid already?

So the TSA is an instrument set up by a WASP to help overthrow evil Caucasian tyrany. Interesting. Learned something new today.

This is the eighth security failure in Newark this year. One invloved putting a dead dog on a plane unchecked.

In the wake of the video on the frisks conducted by TSA on a six-year-old girl and eight-year-old boy less than two weeks ago, there have been serious pornography allegations involving two TSO’s.

The most heinous is that of TSO Thomas Gordon Jr. in PHL who has been charged with posting child pornography on a Facebook page and has since been arrested. http://nation.

It is outrageous that TSA is forcing air travelers into a situation where they must allow pedophiles to touch the private areas of their childrens bodies. It is completely unacceptable for the Federal government to sanction this sort of behavior under the false premise that it improves air safety.
Another incident involves RIC TSOP Bob Seashols’ admission of posting pornography and hate speech on a church webpage. Charges are pending in that incident.

These two incidents mark nineteen TSA employees charged or convicted of serious crimes in less than six months, a record far higher than any comparably sized Federal Agency or private sector company. It is glaringly evident that a major flaw exists in the background investigation and vetting of these employees.

It is irresponsible to allow this agency to continue to invasively scan and frisk innocent passengers and their children when there is clearly a pattern of crime and corruption within TSA. Congress has stood idly by despite repeated and irrefutable evidence of failures and misconduct by TSA employees. To add insult to injury, Congress now rewards this abusive behavior with an expanded budget and continues to allow TSA unfettered control of passenger’s images, bodies and property

This has only gotten worse since November and will likely continue to deteriorate until people stop going along with this nonsense.

Hows this, Manila international put hand carry thru ex-ray, security was reading news paper instead of looking at scanner Sea-Tac international security went thru hand carry found my cigars in plastic tubes and cigar cutter, no problem. La-Ex security went thru wife cosmetic case, nail file, nail clippers, razor blade to sharpen eyebrow pencil in plan sight, no problem, what are they looking for anyway???

  8. Gary says:

This happened to me at Manila international airport, placed hand carry on ex ray belt, went around , found two security officers reading newspaper instead of scanning screen! At Sea-Tac international they went thru my hand carry, found cigars in plastic tubes, plus cigar problem at La Ex they went thru wifes
cosmetic case didn’t find nail file, clippers and cigarette lighter!! So it looks like its going to after after the fact that some passenger plane is going to get nailed again

  9. Giacomo Dangelo says:

I am italian and a frequent flier at Newark airport. I must say that Security officers at the entrance in U.S. are quite impolite and sometime brutal to the foreign people. Moreover those officers make too many questions about your private life, questions which have nothing to do about your visit and reasons to enter the country that once was considered by so many people the Symbol of Liberty.

Add the TSA agent in Hawaii that was arrested for stealing from passengers, AFTER she left a bank because of theft allegations, and you get the idea of the bottom feeders they’re hiring. Yes, sure makes me feel ssfe.

  11. Holden says:

They’re so bloody dumb they couldn’t spell cat if you spotted them the “c” and “t”.

  12. Garth says:

Newark International employs more brain dead people than any other aiport in the world. If you just stand and watch some of these idiots that work for the TSA, you ask yourself how is it possible they can count to 11 without using body parts. Please, patting down grandmothers and young children, that are blonde haired and blue eyed ?? What a waste of energy and tieing up a long line. They really need to learn to scan the passenger line better, since no one ever taught them, or they were asleep during that lesson. They pay attention to everything else, but what is important, and the end result is security breaches. Have we not learned our lesson yet after 9/11 ?? If you are not flying, you have no business being in the terminal..Say goodbye outside, and mommy or daddy can say goo goo to all the brats before he/she enters the terminal.

  13. Smokey says:

Newark is the worst airport in the world. Unfortunately, it’s the closest international airport to my home. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s good. A guy sitting next to me once told me that…and then we sat on the runway for 8 hours….and never took off. All because of a “power outage” at Newark.
