B&C Morning Show: Jerry’s Update: Mets, Yankees Lose
It was a rough night for the Mets and Yankees last night.
The Mets seemed to be off to a good start with a 3 run homer from Carlos Beltran, but an awful performance by R.A. Dickey let San Francisco back in the game. Later, in extra innings, Taylor Bucholz surrendered a home run to Aubrey Huff, and the Giants won 7-6 in 10 innings.
In Detroit, the Yankees ended their 3 game win streak by losing to the Tigers 4-2. Base running mistakes galore in this one as Posada and Cano both got caught on the base paths, and Andruw Jones got thrown out at home.
Outside of New York, the NBA and NHL playoffs continued. In the NBA, Miami took a 2-0 series lead over Boston with their 102-91 win. Oklahoma City tied their series at 1 apiece by beating Memphis 111-102.
In the NHL, Tampa Bay edged Washington 4-3 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Vancouver beat Nashville 2-1 in OT to go up 2-1 in the series.
Also, Francisco Liriano pulled off a no-hitter against the struggling White Sox.
