Mets' Jason Bay On Paternity Leave; Lucas Duda Recalled

NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) — Mets outfielder Jason Bay has been placed on baseball's new paternity leave list.

Bay left the team Tuesday to be with his wife, Kristen, for the birth of their third child. Mets manager Terry Collins said he expects to be without his left fielder for two days.

Lucas Duda was recalled by the club and played left field. The Mets lost to the San Francisco Giants, 7-6.

Bay is in a 1-for-17 slump. He began the season on the disabled list with a strained left rib cage after missing the final two months last year because of a concussion.

Duda started the season with the Mets and went 2 for 17 (.118) in eight games before being optioned April 10 to Triple-A Buffalo.
