Bay Returns From Paternity Leave

NEW YORK (AP) — Jason Bay has returned from the paternity leave list and is back in the starting lineup for the New York Mets.

Bay was in left field and batting fifth for Thursday afternoon's game against San Francisco.

Bay was away for two games while his wife, Kristen, delivered the couple's third child. Garrett David Bay was born Tuesday night.

Outfielder Lucas Duda was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. He went 0 for 3 during Bay's absence.
