Authorities Inspect Motorcycle After Fatal Accident On L.I.

MANORVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) — A 34-year-old man has been killed after losing control of his motorcycle on a Long Island road.

Suffolk County police said Joseph Hancock was operating a 2000 Suzuki eastbound on Mill Road in Manorville when he crossed into the westbound lanes, then went off the road and into a tree.

The Shirley resident was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after the Sunday night crash.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation into the crash is continuing.

I ride Mill Rd. all the time. Not for nothing, but at 34 years old, if you are riding a motorcycle, speeding, at dusk with wet roads, on a road like Mill Rd., you should be a little more responsible than that. That road is tough enough during the day on dry pavement.

Forget inspecting the inanimate object. Authorities should inspect this “man”s genetic line to determine if it’s a hazard to the gene pool.

I am not sure who you are and you have every right to your opinion, but this man is loved, he was a father, a husband, a brother a son and a friend. I think that a little respect would be warranted here since his daughter Anna is reading this and probably more of his family, To question his gene pool is disrespectful and very unintelligent. Accidents happen, this was one of them. Regardless, he was taken too soon from a family that loved him. Anna, I am sorry for your loss, Dont let idiotic comments upset you, Joey was a cool guy and loved by many.

We are more likely to die by getting hit by a car while someones on the cell phone.

That poor man, people need to be more careful on them, they are dangerous. 34 is too young to lose it like that, my condolences go out to his family.
