Authorities Inspect Motorcycle After Fatal Accident On L.I.

MANORVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 34-year-old man has been killed after losing control of his motorcycle on a Long Island road.

Suffolk County police said Joseph Hancock was operating a 2000 Suzuki eastbound on Mill Road in Manorville when he crossed into the westbound lanes, then went off the road and into a tree.

The Shirley resident was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after the Sunday night crash.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation into the crash is continuing.
