With its sizable Middle Eastern population, Paterson is home to several hookah lounges, which have become popular with teenagers in recent years.

“This is a serious quality of life concern,”  says Paterson Councilman Andre Sayegh.

He says residents are complaining about the crowds.

“[There’s] excessive loitering, littering, loud music,” he says.

The city has stepped up enforcement with task force inspections – checking that proprietors are conducting ID checks and keeping the smoking outdoors.

Sayegh hopes parents also step up.

“You can’t legislate parenting,” he says, noting that many of the teens are not local. “They’re saying part of the appeal is going into Paterson cause it’s shady.”

According to The Record, other towns cracking down are Hackensack, Rutherford, and Lyndhurst.

This has nothing to do with liberals. Everyone should have the right to do whatever they want just as long as what they are doing does not enchroach on the rights and happiness of others. That said, when I’m eating dinner, I don’t want to sit there smelling and sucking in your problem…in other words, your habit is then enchroaching on my happiness and well being whether you like it or not. I wouldn’t do that to you. For example, my stupid cell phone went off when I was out to dinner the other night. For some reason, I didn’t think to put it on silent after that. Then, it went off again. I heard the table next to me grumble, and I noticed that they found it annoying to listen to while they were eating dinner, and I completely understood why. So, I put it on silent and everyone was happy. Therefore, if a bar is designed to bring people together who like to smoke, then I say all the power to them…have at it. In fact, I’m not even opposed to giving bars the option to be either smoking or smoke free. Just give people a choice because everyone is different, whether you align your belief structure with that of liberals or conservatives…of which I align myself with neither.

So it’s okay to have cigar bars and hooka lounges are okay, but smoking cigarettes is a near-criminal offense. Anybody know if we are still living in America? When did the nazis, errrr ….. liberals take over?
