Ariana Bender and her friends told CBS 2 they had been camping out since 6 p.m. on Sunday.
“She actually loves and cares about her fans. She sent us Subway because we’ve been out here for so long. She’s just amazing, very inspirational,” said Bender, who’s from Glasberg, N.J.
“I’m getting a sore throat and everything, but it’s worth it. Only artist I would do it for,” added Luis Sanchez of Elizabeth, N.J.
“I of course freaked out because I’ve never met Lady Gaga and I’ve always wanted to,” said Ali Thomas-Hollands of Raleigh, N.C.
If you weren’t one of the lucky ones to get into the Union Square shindig there are other ways to celebrate the release of “Born This Way” across New York City this week — aside from just jamming to the songs on your iPod or blasting the album in your car.
Starbucks is going Gaga. Customers will be able to stream her new album, download her new song Edge of Glory and watch an exclusive acapela version of the “Born This Way” video from the in-store Starbucks Digital Network. They will also be selling copies of “Born This Way” in store.
Little Monsters will be able to celebrate the birth of the new album with a dance party Thursday at Angel Orensanz on Norfolk Street. All you’ll need to get in is a killer outfit and a receipt showing you bought the album (or you could buy the CD at the door).
Lady Gaga will also kick off the “Good Morning America” summer concert series Friday morning at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. The event is ticketed since there’s a limited capacity but no worries you could always watch it on television.
