12-Year-Old Boy Arrested For Alleged Armed Robbery In Trenton, N.J.

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - Police in Trenton say they've arrested a 12-year-old for an alleged armed robbery.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 5:00 p.m. Sunday. According to the Times of Trenton, the boy allegedly walked up to a 27-year-old man on Hoffman Avenue, pulled out a pistol and said "Give it up."

The man handed over a cell phone and $13. The boy then ran off toward the Roger Gardens apartments.

Detectives quickly learned the suspect's identity.

When they went to his home, they found the boy and a .22-caliber revolver. Its serial number had been removed.

The boy is being held at Trenton's Youth Detention Facility on armed robbery and weapons charges.
