Police Seek Queens Suspect Wanted In 4 Separate iPhone Thefts

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police in New York City are asking for help to try and find a suspect wanted for stealing iPhones in four separate incidents.

Authorities said that in each case, the suspect approached people from behind and snatched the iPhone from their hands and fled the scene on foot. No injuries resulted from any of the incidents, which took place in Long Island City, Queens.

The phones were stolen between May 2 and May 11, when authorities said the suspect stole a device from a 61-year-old woman at the corner of 41st Avenue and 21st Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.
