Another Shooting In Newark A Day After 3 Killed

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- A day after three were killed in separate shootings across New Jersey's largest city, another shooting broke out on Sunday.

Little information was available as police could be seen counting shell casings near a Quick Pick Food Mart on Broadway and 7th Avenue. Nearby, The Star-Ledger reports a white sedan sat parked with shattered windows, bullet holes and blood splatter.

A police spokeswoman was headed to the scene and had no immediate comment.

On Saturday, three people were killed in separate shootings in the city's North, Central and South wards; three others were wounded.

Those shootings follow another one on Thursday night, when an off-duty Newark police officer getting a slice of pizza at a neighborhood fast-food restaurant was shot dead and two others were injured. A 19-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection to that case.
