Memorial Day Weekend Arrests Up On Connecticut Highways
HARTFORD, CT (WCBS 880) - Maybe it was because so many more people hit the roads this weekend compared to last Memorial Day, but Connecticut State Police Lt. Paul Vance says arrests were up in every single category from drunk driving to speeding.
"We saw almost a 300 ticket jump over last year," says Vance.
Vance says more than 2,000 speeders were nabbed.
He says another surprise was nearly 1,000 tickets were issued to drivers not wearing their seat belts.
