NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – Police say they are investigating the theft of 77 laptops from a New York City elementary school during two separate robberies within a week.

Police say the latest robbery at P.S. 73 in the Bronx occurred sometime between 3:15 p.m. on Memorial Day and the start of school on Tuesday. They say 50 laptops were found missing.

Police say that’s on top of 27 computers that were reported stolen at the school on May 25.

Parents are livid.

“I think it’s disrespectful, that’s for the kids, it’s for our kids,” one man said.

“I think it’s crazy for them to break into a school just to get laptops. Get a job,” a woman said.
