Police Seek Suspect Wanted In 7 Manhattan Burglaries

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking for help to identify and locate a man wanted in seven burglaries in Downtown, Manhattan dating back to April 3.

In each of the incidents, police said the suspect broke a hole in a side wall or door to gain access to the business. Once he got inside, the suspect stole cash and property before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man who was last seen wearing blue jeans, a light-colored shirt and a black jacket with a hood. Police also said he often wears a dark-colored bag around his waist.

The suspect has taken money, cigarettes, a laptop and liquor bottles in the burglaries.

Authorities said the man was unable to take anything in an attempted burglary at the Time Equities store located at 80 Nassau Street.

The latest burglary came sometime between 4 p.m. Sunday, May 22 and Monday, May 23 inside the Ho Yip restaurant at 110 Liberty Street. Money was taken from several cash registers, police said.
