JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Park police rescued a swimmer after he dove into New York Harbor between a New Jersey park and Liberty Island.

The unidentified 29-year-old man stripped down to swim trunks and dove into the water from a Liberty State Park footpath on Sunday.

The New York Post reports a witness called 911 about 45 minutes later after noticing the man was in trouble.
