The last time the Yankees and Red Sox met, the Red Sox hadn't yet found their way in 2011 and the Yankees were flying high after a solid opening month to the season. But after the two teams met in the Bronx things began to change.
The Yankees were swept by the Red Sox, suffered a six-game losing streak and needed a 13-5 run over their last 18 games to regain the lead in the AL East. The Red Sox went from colossal disappointment to bounce back in the the division and now trail the Yankees by just one game.
Nick Cafardo, national baseball writer for The Boston Globe, joined me to talk about the third installment of the rivalry this season, the Red Sox' recent resurgence and what to expect over the next three days at Yankee Stadium.
