Jersey Shore Merchants Hoping For A Busy Summer

SPRING LAKE, NJ (WCBS 880) — The economy is still sputtering and that makes it a vacationers’ market at the Jersey shore

Any talk of an economic recovery is pure rumor at the Normandy Inn.

WCBS 880’s Peter Haskell reports: Jersey Shore Merchants Hoping For A Busy Summer

“We don’t really see the turn around just yet here in our business,” said owner Christine Valori.

Valori says prices have actually gone down and they’re offering discounts to get people in the door.

“We have not increased rates in several years, in about four years, and we are running again more specials and more incentives where we see it’s needed,” she said.

She says that means if you call and a room is available, she’ll try to make her rates work for you.

Do you think the economy is getting better or worse? Let us know in our comments section…

I don’t know about the rest of the country but it’s not getting better where I live Alaska. We need to drill baby drill.

  2. Ted says:

Maybe they are hoping for some Obama bucks to stimulate them.

They always have a great summer. When was the last time you’ve heard of a boardwalk vendor filing for bankruptcy?
