Last night they were at it again on our sister station, WCBS 880, calling all of the action from last night’s Yankees 12-4 win over the Rangers at the Stadium in the Bronx. So just before Jerry “Rello” Recco’s first update of the morning, Boomer & Craig played a little game we like to call, “You Make the Call,” as a way of paying tribute to the Yankees’ radio broadcast team.
Then Jerry got down to business filling us in on all of the details from the Bombers’ win and we heard Suzyn talk about Mark Teixeira’s “back toe,” which to Sterling’s surprise, got hit by a pitch.
The Mets improved to 33-34 with a 4-3 win over the Braves in Atlanta last night and even after a win, Terry Collins sounded a little “punch drunk.” Former Mets manager Jerry Manuel made an appearance on the MLB Network, which Craigie got a kick out of. Dillon Gee goes tonight for the Mets and that gave Al a reason to play some of his parody song paying tribute to the 7-game winner.
Then we listened to LeBron James’ apology for his post-game comments about his charmed life, as the self-proclaimed “King” tries his hand in a little damage control…
