Police Impersonators Conducting Phony Traffic Stops In Rye Brook, Say Detectives

RYE BROOK, NY (WCBS 880)-- Police in Rye Brook are on the hunt for a pair of robbery suspects who they say are acting like cops.

Rye Brook police are investigating a report of two men posing as police during a phony traffic stop.

This allegedly occurred around 3:30am when a driver flagged down a real police officer and claimed two white males in a white Ford Taurus with red and blue flashing lights stopped the car and stole $50 from the pair inside.
