Police Looking For 'Bedbug Bandits' In Midtown Apartment Armed Robbery

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a pair of suspects who they say falsely claimed they were checking for bedbugs at a Midtown apartment and robbed the place at gunpoint on the morning of May 24.

Authorities said the two men forced their way into the apartment in the vicinity of East 31st Street and Third Avenue and struck the victim in the head before tying up the victim's hands and feet.

The suspects were able to take an unknown amount of property before fleeing in a silver Dodge Nitro. The victim sustained a laceration to the head and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The suspects are described as the following:

Suspect#1: M/W or Hispanic, 25-30 years old, wearing a gray jacket, stone washed jeans and a dust mask.

Suspect#2: M/W or Hispanic, 40-50 years old, wearing a black jacket with gray stripe, black jeans and a dust mask.
