Freeport Bar Fights Leads To Fatal Crash

FREEPORT, NY (CBS 2) — Two men face charges after police say a bar fight ended in a fatal crash in Freeport.

Investigators say a fight at the Phase Bar on Bayview Avenue poured out onto the street early Saturday morning.

Witnesses heard a gunshot then two men sped off in a Mitsubishi Galant. The car then plowed into a Dodge Intrepid, splitting it in half and killing the driver.

The driver of the Galant was charged with manslaughter. A passenger suffered a broken neck.

A bar bouncer was also arrested for allegedly hiding a gun.

Why is Long Island constantly on the news for some tragic event or some wrongdoing? I mean on CBS ABC NBC there is almost daily, a story about something bad going down on the Island. Like Texas or Florida.
