Freeport Bar Fights Leads To Fatal Crash

FREEPORT, NY (CBS 2) — Two men face charges after police say a bar fight ended in a fatal crash in Freeport.

Investigators say a fight at the Phase Bar on Bayview Avenue poured out onto the street early Saturday morning.

Witnesses heard a gunshot then two men sped off in a Mitsubishi Galant. The car then plowed into a Dodge Intrepid, splitting it in half and killing the driver.

The driver of the Galant was charged with manslaughter. A passenger suffered a broken neck.

A bar bouncer was also arrested for allegedly hiding a gun.

    this whole article is wrong the bouncer did not hide a gun he shot the gun at the 2 gentlemen he should be arrested on more serious charges the freeport police is covering for him as they usually do and not providing the accurate information. The 2 men was running for their llives. They need to start looking further into what they are reporting there is no justice served

    Why is Long Island constantly on the news for some tragic event or some wrongdoing? I mean on CBS ABC NBC there is almost daily, a story about something bad going down on the Island. Like Texas or Florida.
