NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police in Flushing are searching for man accused of forcibly touching an 8-year-old girl Monday morning.

Authorities said that the man climbed through a balcony and into the second story of the home on 58th Avenue, directly across from an elementary school, at around 5 a.m.

One man who lives next door and also has a young child spoke with 1010 WINS’ Sonia Rincon and said the incident has him scared.

“I’m a New Yorker. I live here for a long time. I know this, it could happen anywhere, but in my neighborhood? Next door? No,” he said.

Another resident said it was the last thing she expected to hear about on the quiet street.

“In the afternoon yesterday, I see that little guy was playing with people in the next house. But today, [I was] really, really surprised what happened,” she said.

The little girl was not hurt, but was taken to the hospital for observation.

Police were only able to get a vague description of the suspect. They went door to door asking neighbors if they had seen anything, but many were still asleep at the time of the incident.

The investigation is  ongoing and no arrests have been made.

The Supreme Court ruled that there can be no law that limits the length of time any person convicted of any sexually related crime can be sentenced to serve. No more “registered sex offenders” in our neighborhoods. Once he’s convicted, put him in prison in a ward of hard-core lifers. He’ll learn his lesson every night, till he’s dead.
