The 12th Annual Bar And Wine Show Trade Show Heads For NYC

By Selena Ricks-Good

The premier trade show for the East Coast bar industry, The Bar and Wine Show rolls into town June 28 and 29 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Featuring more than 300 exhibitors catering to bars, nightclubs, restaurants, liquor companies and consumers, this event is all about the business of wine and booze--so expect to taste several varieties.

Tickets to the floor show are $50, and include access to 15-minute bartender clinics led by members of the USBGNY (United States Bartender's Guild of New York) on how to mix drinks at home. At 2 p.m. on June 29, Maximilian Riedel will lead a spirits tasting using Riedel glassware. Taste and compare Cognac, tequila and single malt whisky in Riedel's spirit-specific glasses to decide for yourself if the shape of the glass affects how a drink tastes.

The main stage at the show will feature Championship Cocktail Contests on both days, where you can see top bartenders show off their flair skills. Expect to see bottle flipping acrobatics and more.

For access to educational seminars as well as the show, tickets are $150. Seminars will feature demonstrations of the latest trends in cocktails and techniques from some of the most renowned mixologists in the business, including Tony Abou-Ganim, Dale DeGroff, Gary Regan, Junior Merino and David Wondrich.
