Group Trying To Determine The Value Of Westchester County Parks

WHITE PLAINS, NY (WCBS 880) -- How do you put a price tag on the value of a park? That's what the Friends of Westchester County Parks are looking to do with their new $70,000 study.

Executive director Joe Stout says the study is going to determine the value of the county's parks when it comes to the economy and Westchester's quality of life.

"I think a lot of people know what happens socially, people understand that stuff intrinsically," said Stout. "But we're talking more about what do those things bring to the table economically to Westchester County."

The study is expected to be done by November in time for the budget season.
