Officials: Decomposed Body Is Not That Of Missing Indiana University Student Lauren Spierer

INDIANAPOLIS (CBSNewYork) — A woman’s body found in Indianapolis is not that of missing Westchester native Lauren Spierer, the Marion County coroner said.

Investigators say the badly decomposed body was discovered in Fall Creek on Sunday about 50 miles from Bloomington, where the 20-year-old fashion major attended Indiana University.

The coroner determined the body retrieved from the creak is that of a young black woman who had possibly been in the water for more than two weeks. The woman’s identity has not yet been determined.

Police, hundreds of volunteers and her parents, Robert and Charlene Spierer, have been searching for Spierer since she vanished while walking alone to her apartment around 4:30 a.m. on June 3 after a night out with friends.

Official, public searches were called off last week but police have said they will continue to investigate.

I am sad for whomever they found and happy that we can still have hope for Lauren.

Lauren Spierer and Her Assailant are in Picture.

The Bloomington IN police released to the general public a photo of a truck in regard to the missing IU student Lauren Spierer. Although it is difficult to see, this photo shows Lauren Spierer and her assailant in the back of the truck.

The police located the truck and have ruled out the driver as a suspect. With Lauren Spierer and her assailant pictured in the back of the truck, how can this be? This is weird!

I have set up a website showing the picture with outlines to help visualize it:

If when you look at the picture you do not see what I see, spend some time working at it. I see this as a fairly clear photograph. I think your brain needs to figure the picture out before you can see it. After your brain has figured out the picture you cannot help but see it when you look at it.

If when you look at the picture you do not see what I see, show it to a number of other people. It seems that some people cannot see it when they first look at it. There must be some people that can clearly see Lauren Spierer and her assailant in the picture when they look at it.

Finding the body of a young Black woman is news enough, and I am sincerely disturbed that CBS local news does not know that. How disrespectful to make this discovery the segue into another case and how naive and lazy to pretend that race would not be a factor in the reporting of it.

    1. badman says:

the reason it’s local news is because Lauren Spierer is from Westchester. There is a lot of needless race baiting on these posts, most by self-hating white people. Don’t be part of the problem.

Well, thank God it was just a young black woman that didn’t garner national attention.

  5. Jill says:

Well….Thank God for small favors…Where could she be ? Somebody knows’s a shame that her friends are not speaking up…

  6. Vik says:

There is beyond stonewalling going with this girl’s so-called “friends.” Somebody knows something and Deputy Droop-A-Long and his buddies are doing NOTHING about it. Hope her family can one day soon get closure.
