SPCA: Nail Driven Through Turtle Found At Sag Harbor

SMITHTOWN, NY (CBSNewYork) -- A $1,000 reward is being offered for information about who would have driven a nail through a turtle.

The Suffolk County SPCA says they found an Eastern Box Turtle with a 10 penny nail driven through it on July 5 at Sag Harbor.

Officials say the turtle is being taken care by Wildlife Rescue and is expected to recover.

Suffolk County SPCA chief Roy Gross is asking anyone with information to come forward. If you know anything, call the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722.  All calls will be kept confidential.
