B&C Morning Show: Derek Jeter Shuns All-Star Game In Phoenix

Robinson Cano "Don't Ya' Know" put on a power hitting display last night in Arizona and for his efforts was crowned the winner of the 2011 Home Run Derby.  Cano out slugged Red Sox 1st baseman Adrian Gonzalez to take home the crown and the only reason the guys even brought it up is because Cano is a Yankee.

Neither Boomer nor Craig paid the spectacle much mind, Craig citing ESPN's Chris Berman's antics as the major deterrent as far as he was concerned.

From there the guys shifted their focus to Cano's teammate, Derek Jeter, who is noticeably absent from the All-Star festivities.  The Captain elected to pass on participating in this year's Mid-Summer Classic because of what he is calling mental and physical exhaustion after his well publicized pursuit of 3,000 hits.

Boomer & Craig agreed that even if he does not want to play, Jeter should at least make an appearance - especially when you hear about his lucrative deal with Steiner Sports.

Craig was also sure to point out that - despite not not being healthy enough to take part in the game - Jeter's crosstown counterpart Jose Reyes is in Arizona after being voted in by the fans...
