Police: Man Kills Ex-Girlfriend Despite Restraining Order

BAY SHORE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Police say a Long Island woman had a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend who turned the gun on himself after killing her.

Police say the murder-suicide occurred Tuesday during a heated argument over visitation rights of their 3-month-old daughter.

They say 27-year-old Jason Jenkins entered the apartment he once shared with Sanita Williams at 1 a.m. Tuesday bearing a shotgun.

During the shooting, police say, Williams’ sister, Shanna Jordan, jumped out of the second-story apartment, breaking her leg.

Jordan’s 12-year-old son and Williams’ 5-year-old daughter from another relationship were in the house at the time but were not hurt.

Newsday reports that the slayings capped a tumultuous relationship that included a breakup and the restraining order.

  1. Confused says:

why wasnt 911 called when he entered the house

  2. Very Interesting... says:

Where are all these concerned citizens on the other page describing the woman who was raped and KILLED BY THREE WHITE GUYS?

  3. VERY INTERESTING says:

WHY AREN’T ALL OVE THESE CONCERNED CITIZENS COMMENTING ON THE STORY OF THE WHITE WOMAN WHO WAS RAPED AND KILLED BY THREE WHITE GUYS IN NEW JERSEY?

  4. DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE says:

HOW ABOUT WOMEN STOP USING CHILDREN IN THEIR LITTLE GAMES OF REVENGE, AND MAYBE THEY WOULDN’T BE THE VICTIMS OF THIS KIND OF VIOLENCE… SOMETIMES YOU BRING THINGS ON YOURSELF.

    1. Ana says:

There was obviously a reason for her restraining order. You don’t know what they were going through; and it doesn’t mean she was doing it out of revenge. She was probably just trying to protect herself & the child. But not matter what the case was, did he really have to kill her?! There’s still no excuse for that at all!

      1. Passion Killing says:

Agreed, they work when someone is just kinda a jerk or creepy, but do nothing to stop a motivated individual…
I’m sure she had some kind of warning or sign he might do something like this..
some people are so deeply in love with someone they are blinded by outrage and passion, a broken heart is the worst thing to have in this world…guess she should have listened, most likely she’d at least be alive today

    2. Sara says:

Yes – that’s a very different perspective. Don’t bring your own delusions into other people’s lives. You are more likely to be wrong then right. She’s not the one who was carrying a shotgun and who had to have a restraining order issued. I believe you may need some anger management and relationship counseling.

    3. Sant. Williams says:

      Truth!!!!!!!!

  5. ROFLMAO says:

Restraining orders are nothing but a joke….

  6. heavyhorse says:

more needs to be done to protect individuals, men and women alike, from the dangers of mentally unstable individuals once there is a restraining order. The restraining order is not enough. Too many have been continually harrased, physically harmed and killed despite the orders of protection. And when one tries to protect themselves, they get the short end of the stick, what can be done? what should be done? make ammendments to the laws. thats the only way. until then, protect yourselves.

  7. C Thomas says:

Well, this is what one gets when one celebrates sexual prowess above character. Mack Daddy… how are those babies and city bus working for your now LaQuisha,,,

  8. brooklynzfinest says:

There are always two sides to every story. Stop believing everything you read, because there was more to this story than meets eye.So therefore, please keep your dumb comments to yourself people.

    1. Tightrightnow says:

It does not matter if there were two stories cause he came to the house with a gun. You kill her and yourself now that’s just stupid. What about the kids now they don’t have a mother or father. If he wanted custody so bad straighten up your act.

  9. Ronnie says:

When the complaint has been proven, beyond a doubt, the perp should be fitted with the infamous ankle bracelet, at his or her expense. Once entering the forbiden periherial zone, he/she should be picked up or at least stopped for questioning. The zone should be a wide one, giving authorities time to stop him/her from an attack etc.. Wait a minute that wouldn’t work, the potential victum would have to go out of the forbidden zone to shop etc. How about a device that the complaintant would wear/carry to give off a signal from the perps bracelet when he/she was at a dangerous distance, say 2 blocks. Nope not for life, This would be a deterent until things settled down (if that’s possible) between the two.

  10. Moon Them says:

Minorities should embrace a new way of thinking: Have 2 kids on Earth when they’re 18, like they do anyhow. Raise their 2 kids til they are young adults, which is 18 y.o. By that time, the parents will be 36 y.o. Now, if the parents want more children, they can go to the Moon or Mars to reproduce as many as they want, at the still young age of 36.

    1. sara says:

Does the word jerk sound familiar to you? what does being a minority have to do with anything? what does this comment have to do with anything?

  11. M.A.D says:

YES, 5% OF THEM SHOULD BE PLACE IN PROTECTIVE CUSTODY.

  12. bloombergisafascist says:

i love that, DESPITE A COURT ORDER. like a piece of paper can save you from a murderer. like it is a living entity that could have stood up and defended her.

  13. Rick says:

Sadly these things are not worth the paper they are written on. Arming everyone with a gun is hardly the solution. We need to rid our prisions of first time drug offenders so there’s room for these lunatics who can not control their tempers.

  14. Sheila says:

The question no one asks is why was she dating a crazy man? Do you think he just became crazy? A person who could do such an awful thing shows signs of being disturbed all along.

    1. Cos says:

Sheila: Maybe that’s why they broke up…?

    2. Ana says:

Maybe he played to be this normal man at 1st and when she realized he wasn’t all there, she left him & got the restraining order. And then he went completely nuts.

      1. Sant. Williams says:

I knew her personally and the type of men that she attracted were all the same. All the “girls” like the bad boys but what they don’t realize is the bad boy can become bad….This is a very sad and sensitive situation. I feel very sorry for her children. The first child’s father was in jail etc its a sad repetitive cycle some people place themselves in….
Ladies, we need to do better!!!!!!!!!!

  15. hellothere says:

Dear ladies when you get that order stop by the gun shop and get a 38, when he shows up shoot first asking no questions and he’s no longer a problem…! Sorry thi sis your solution!

  16. TRACK says:

Sorry she didn’t have a weapon of her own! The authories know the piece of paper is worthless and who the hell is afriad of it? But they prefer to keep you defenseless…it’s their job description…

    1. Jim says:

Would you like the authorities to issue every woman/man who has a restraining order a gun?Yes a order of protection is just a piece of paper and it wont stop all people, but the threat of arrest is enough to keep 95% of people away. Its the best we got unless you have a better way.

      1. Moon Them says:

He should’ve been sent to SPACE CAMP immediately, for at least 2 years. Prisons are no longer deterrents to criminals, wife bashers, etc. Space will set them free.

      2. Cos says:

Jim: Are you suggesting that her family and children should take solice in that train of thought? It’s a little too late for that politically correct train of thought. All that paper does is allow them to find their first suspect – should the person be assaulted or murdered. In a perfect world, your thoughts would be ideal. We live in less then perfect times and as such, have to provide the best answers to problems like these with what works instead of what would be ideal.

    2. KPMc says:

How come I didn’t see your comments on the story of the priest that was killed with his own gun?

      Hmmmnn
