Scarsdale Event Raises Money For Lauren Spierer Search Effort

SCARSDALE, NY (CBS 2) -- Westchester residents came together to raise money to continue the search for missing college student and Greenburgh native Lauren Spierer.

Women's clothing boutique LF Scarsdale, along with Spierer's friends, held an event Saturday called Headbands for Hope.

Friends say Spierer, who used to work at the store, loves wearing headbands. The store plans to donate a portion of Saturday's sales to the search effort.

"The number of people who have reached out to us jumping at opportunities to do things, to donate and to help any way they can, to send their love out to the Spierers that all of us have been feeling, it's overwhelmingly amazing," said friend Rebecca Lefkowitz.

Spierer is an Indiana University sophomore. She disappeared six weeks ago after a night out with friends.
