B&C Morning Show: Great American Letdown, Mets Fading Fast, Yankees Just Being The Yankees

Boomer and Craig had different takes on the United States women's loss to Japan in Sunday's 2011 World Cup Final.  Boomer was proud of the US women's efforts, who were tied 2-2 after regulation, only to lose 3-1 on penalty kicks.  Craig on the other hand called it a choke job if there ever was one -- and he informed Boomer that there was nothing he could say that would change his mind.

So things got off to a bit of a rocky start on today's edition of the Morning Extravaganza.

From there, after losing 2 of 3 to the 1st place Phillies (holla!!!) over the weekend, Craigie declared the Mets' season officially over and there wasn't much his radio partner could say to combat him.  They both were able to agree that doesn't mean everyone should stop rooting on their team, but that they should just curb their enthusiasm moving forward if you will.

Conversely, after losing the first two games of the series, the Yankees rebounded to get a split against the Blue Jays in Toronto, winning yesterday's game 7-2 behind Phil Hughes' first win of the season.  With a four-game set set to get underway tonight in Tampa Bay, Craig says the Yankees are just getting started.

Finally, Boomer offered some encouraging news regarding the ongoing NFL labor negotiations and it appears the 2011-12 season will go off without a hitch...
