NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A high-priced prostitution ring that was based in Brooklyn but did a brisk business on the internet has been busted, prosecutors said.

District Attorney Charles Hynes says the defendants have been charged with running several websites that advertised escort services and with selling cocaine and other controlled substances.

Girls were on-call 24/7 through a variety of websites including Cupid Direct, Discreet Club and High Class New York. 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa reports there were also listings on Craigslist.

Some clients paid as much as $10,000 a night, Hynes said, and the charges to their credit cards were disguised on their statements.

He says the Sheepshead Bay-based ring brought in more than $2 million a year.
