L.I. Man Allegedly Grabs Woman With Stroller, Tries To Steal Cell Phone

SELDEN, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Suffolk County Police arrested a Selden man who allegedly attacked a woman walking with her child Sunday night.

Police said the woman was walking with her 7-month-old in a stroller on College Road at 9:15 p.m. when Aquilino Villatoro, 31, approached her from behind.

They said he grabbed her chest and backside, held his hand over her mouth and tried to steal her cell phone before fleeing when the woman managed to scream.

Police officers responding to the woman's 911 call found a man nearby fitting the suspect's description. She identified him as her assailant and he was arrested.

Villatoro was charged with Forcible Touching, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Attempted Grand Larceny 4th and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing.

The College Road, Selden resident was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
