Police: 3-Year-Old Boy Found Wandering Alone In Battery Park City

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 3-year-old boy found wandering around in Battery Park City Monday morning will spend the night in the custody of Administration for Children's Services.

Trevor Frazer has been checked at the hospital and found to be okay.  Police said the toddler was found around 9:30 a.m. Monday in Teardrop Park.

The child's 20-year-old mother, however, is currently at Bellevue Hospital, where she has been admitted as an emotionally disturbed person.

Police are still trying to piece together the circumstances that led to the child being left alone.  Authorities have visited family members of the boy in New Jersey, police said.
