With the NFL negotiations over, Al Dukes reached out to former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher to get his take new deal. Cowher can, of course, be seen Sundays on the NFL Today during the season alongside Boomer and the gang.
Right off the bat Craig asked Cowher if he was in attendance for Ben Roethlisberger’s wedding over the weekend. Craig was shocked to learn that Cowher was not, considering the two won a Super Bowl together. Cowher tried to downplay the snub – although based on the fact he didn’t even bother to send a gift to the newlyweds – one might be led to believe he was not pleased.
As far as the new, 10-year collective bargaining agreement the two sides signed-off on, Cowher thinks overall will be very good for the league, although he did take the time to point out a few stipulations that will take some adjusting to.
Cowher also said the new rules will not serve as any kind of excuse, as all 32 teams will be operating under the exact same parameters – albeit new parameters – which should make for a very entertaining season.
Craig was still fixated on the fact that Roethlisberger did not extend an invitation to Cowher so he could be present for his nuptials and before letting the Super Bowl winning coach go, Craig brought it up to him once again before saying goodbye…
