RIDGE, N.Y (CBSNewYork) — Police in Suffolk County are looking for two suspects who they say vandalized five flag poles and stole military flags from a floral shop.

It happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday at National Floral Design on Middle Country Road in Ridge.

Police say two men in their early 20s broke down the metal flag poles that stood on the side of the building and took the flags.

The flags represent the five branches of the military.

National Floral Design is a memorial florist for a national cemetery on eastern Long Island.

Anyone with information should call police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

they ought to be ashamed of themselves for stealing from anyone that is not very good at all cause there are alot of people that gave there lives in the 5 braNCHS OF THE MILITARY AND THAT SHOULD BE GIVEN AS CIVER PUSNISHMENT CAUSE ALOT OF PEOPLE LOST THERE LIFES WHILE IN WAR AND COMBAT THAT IS WHY THAT SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY.

These 2 young men in their early 20’s if caught, should be enlisted into the military service, since they have a thing for military flags. Let them serve their service time, and maybe they will learn to appreciate what those flags represent.

  3. let soldiers beat them says:

WELLthese pictures pretty clear so my guess is the will be turning themselves in and returning flags. It is bad enough they are stupid but they did not even notice the camera there family must be proud to raise 2 big time losers like they say the apple does not fall far from the tree so there parents are probably idiots too
