B&C Morning Show: Holmes Sweet Holmes, Kiss Beltran Goodbye

Shortly after the conclusion of Wednesday's show, reports began to circulate that the Jets and Santonio Holmes had reached an agreement (he can't officially sign until Friday). The star wide receiver will be catching passes from Mark Sanchez while wearing green and white for the foreseeable future.

Holmes - who was named MVP of Super Bowl XLIII while playing for the Steelers - knows a thing or two about celebrating. With the arrangements for his new deal figured out, Holmes took off his shirt and downed a 2002 bottle of Louis Roederer Cristal and then posted the picture on Twitter with the following caption: "Just finished off a bottle of Louis Roederer Cristal from 2002! Big bro showed loved today."

Considering Holmes' past off-field conduct -- he served a 4-game suspension last season to begin his Jets career for puffin' the marijuana -- one would have to wonder if this was the best idea.  Boomer & Craig sure wondered just that and they talked about the Holmes signing and celebrating to kick-off today's radio program.

After weeks of speculation, Mets GM Sandy Alderson pulled the trigger on a deal yesterday that sent free-agent to be Carlos Beltran to San Francisco in exchange for 21-year-old, right-handed pitching prospect Zach Wheeler -- thus marking the end of an era.  Boomer & Craig discussed Beltran's departure and reflected upon his 6+ years as a member of the Mets.

So today's show opened up with a myriad of emotions - with Holmes remaining a Jet,  Beltran becoming a Giant and Boomer & Carton breaking it all down as only they can...
