High Line Roller Rink Opens On West Side

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - Go outside and strap on some roller skates. A new roller rink opened next to the High Line this morning.

It is one of the few open-air roller skating venues in Manhattan.

The High Line Rink has about 8,000 square feet at The Lot, a temporary plaza at West 30th Street and 10th Avenue.

There will be a rotating series of food trucks and other entertainment.

The rink will be open through Sept. 26.

It will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m Thursday through Sunday.

The admission fee, which includes skate rental, is $10 for children under 13-years-old and $12 for adults. You still have to pay even if you have your own skates.

The rink was designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro and James Corner Field Operations.
