UFC lays claim to being the first to bring Korean fried chicken to New York, though they do not have a location in Manhattan (which some will suggest makes this claim moot). Regardless of being first or not, though, UFC rightfully also lays claim to having incredibly Korean fried chicken: crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside, and deliciously flavored with your choice of soy garlic, hot, BBQ mustard or sweet&spicy, not a single flavor bad among them, you'll be in chicken heaven as you clean your plate. Pro tip: the sweet potato fries are fantastic.

BonChon, the first Korean fried chicken to make its way into Manhattan, boasts many locations all around the city. Each one has its own quirks, fun to discover as you eat your way through the menu at all of the branches, but there's no question: delicious chicken can be had here as well. The hot is no joke, so the spice-averse may want to stick to soy-garlic (the universal Korean fried chicken flavor; 'plain' if you will). Pro tip: the fried zucchini is also really good.

KyoChon offers delicious chicken in the same style: soy garlic or hot, though the hot here will melt the face off the hot chicken at any of the other Korean fried chicken chains - definitely not for those not accustomed to super spicy food. The soy garlic, as usual, is still delicious, but extremely garlicky and may not be appropriate for those who have a date later tonight - stick to the honey wings if this is the case. They also offer many other options, such as salads topped with the famous chicken, or rice bowls. Yum!
