Schumer: Senate Closer To Banning Bath Salts

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP)Sen. Charles of Schumer says a measure to outlaw the dangerous abused drug known as “bath salts” is closer to adoption.

The Democrat says his bill unanimously passed a key Senate committee Thursday.

The bill would add MDPV and Mephedrone to the list of controlled substances. Thirty-four states including New York have banned bath salts already.

Bath salts are sold online and at convenience store counters like candy, but are abused often by teenagers for a highly toxic high.

Schumer says the narcotic is sold under names including Tranquillity, Zoom, Ivory Wave, Red Dove and Vanilla Sky.

Should these bath salts be banned? Sound off in our comments section below…

Wow, another plus for Schumer, but what about gun control?

Thank goodness Chuckie Schumer is on the scene. Life long, useless windbag and mentor of Anthony the Weiner. I can’t wait to see tomorrows special investigation announcement. His daily sound bites are a joke – I can’t believe he gets elected over and over again.

So we march towards (as Nancy Pelosi puts it) “the end of life as we know it” and this is what Schumer is worried about? This guy is such a joke, Thank God I left NYS, he is a fool!
