Off-Duty Essex County Corrections Officer Shot Dead In Car
NEWARK, N.J. (CBS 2/AP) -- An off-duty Essex County corrections officer has been shot and killed.
It happened around 3 a.m. Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray says the 32-year-old female officer was shot in her car in Newark.
Police say they don't have a motive and the officer's name is being withheld until her family can be notified.
The investigation is still ongoing.
