Since his foiled attempt at kissing Beyonce’s butt at the expense of Taylor Swift during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West hasn’t really been up to much of his old bad-boy tricks.

Apparently he decided it was time to come out of hiding, and he chose Nicki Minaj’s concert at the Nassau Coliseum on Monday night to do so.  Unlike Taylor, Nicki looked pretty psyched to let Kanye scoop some of her spotlight.  The two sang “Monster” together, while Minaj skipped around the stage.

Kanye definitely kicked it old school in the wardrobe department.  I wouldn’t have guessed he was a grunge fan, but based on his black jeans coupled with a red flannel tied around his waist, it looked like Mr. West was channeling his inner Eddie Vedder.

The crowd in Long Island didn’t seem to mind the distraction at all.  Could this mean we’ll be seeing a new West-Minaj duet soon?
