Mets: Johan Santana Has Shoulder Fatigue, No Other Damage

NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) -- Johan Santana's rehab has hit a snag, though thankfully for Mets fans it appears there's no major worry.

Santana has fatigue in his surgically repaired left shoulder and will stop throwing until he regains his strength.

The Mets said a hospital examination in New York on Thursday revealed no other damage.

The two-time Cy Young winner had surgery on his shoulder last September and has not pitched in the majors this season.

Santana pitched three scoreless innings last week for Class A St. Lucie in his first rehabilitation outing. But he was scratched from his next scheduled start because of lingering discomfort.

The Mets are home this weekend against Atlanta, and Santana will stay with the major league team for a week and then go back to Florida.
